The Process:  (1) Information such as paper or film drawings and/or documents that is not in digital form is first converted into the appropriate digital format, usually by scanning.   (2) This "converted" information, along with other existing digital files, is then electronically "filed" or indexed into one or more image databases according to look-up requirements of the intended users. This information can then be easily found, viewed, edited, printed, updated, shared, and distributed securely across internal networks, extranets, and the Internet. This information can also be used to collaborate securely anywhere where access to the Internet is available.
