When portability of drawings is useful, a simple approach is most helpful. This Simplicity can be accomplished by loading all your drawings, documents, photos, etc. on one or more CD ROMs or DVDs with a database search engine, an image viewer, and printing/plotting capability for quick retrieval....and take ALL this information with you anytime and anywhere. Totally self contained CD ROMs are loaded with scanned drawings, documents, photographs, CAD Files, spreadsheets, etc. Run time database search engine software, plus software for viewing, redlining, printing and plotting. A single CD ROM can hold 2 - 9, 000 Large Drawings plus the run time database search engine. A single DVD can hold 8 to 50,000 Large Drawings plus the run time database search engine. This is extremely portable and does not need to be loaded onto a hard drive. You can carry thousands of easily retrievable drawings in your pocket and, in seconds, use them anywhere you have access to a windows based PC with a CD and/or DVD drive. Of course everything on the CD ROM or DVD can be loaded onto a hard drive or set up in a CD ROM or DVD Jukebox on a network.
