Please also provide any additional information related to how your scanned
images will be used.

If so, for which word processor?
Who will perform proof reading and cleanup of these documents?
7 - Will "Indexing" (electronic filing by tagging images with desired info) be required and, if so, who will perform this operation?
8 - Do you need to edit the scanned images? If yes, do you have or know of the software you will use to do the editing? Name(s) here
9 - Which departments will need access to these scanned images? How many users in each department will have access to the scanned images?
10 - Do you know how you would like to be able to search/find the scanned images? Describe you current manual filing system(s). Do you find drawings and documents by searching a project name or number, etc., first? How do you do a find for drawings, maps, etc now? (step by step.)
11 - Do you want to be able to search the scanned images the same way? If no, how?
12 - What, if any database program do you currently use? Is it a Text only Database or an Image Database?
Would you use the same database program for the scanned images?
Yes
No
13 - Who will perform pre and post scanning hand work such as sorting by size, quality, condition, etc, staple removal, unfolding, repairing and taping of torn and damaged cards, etc, etc?
14 - Operating System(s) Currently in use:

Specific Aperture Card Scanning Questions NOTE: CTS will make assumptions as listed below if questions below are not answered or answered completely.
1 - Are all aperture cards punched?
Yes
No
2 - Are they punched according to a specification?
Yes
No
If so, identify the spec. This spec must be provided to CTS before final pricing can be validated.
If not, can they be punched by CTS?
Yes
No
3 - Do you know which file format (e.g. CALS.GP4, or Tiff.GP4, etc) you want your cards scanned into?
4 - Is 200 dpi an acceptable resolution? This is generally recommended.
Yes
No
If not, what resolution is required?
5 - If all aperture cards are punched, are they punched consistently in the same locations with the same information.
Yes
No Detail s:
6 - Does the punched information include the drawing size ("A", "B", "C", "D", "E", "F", etc.)?
Yes
No
If so, is it always punched in the same column location?
Yes
No
7 - Are all aperture cards created with the same reduction ratios ("A", "B", "C" =15, "D" = 24, "E" and "F" = 30) globally applied to each size group?
Yes
No
SOME= %
8 - Is the punched information printed at the top of the card?
Yes
No
SOME= %
9 - For un-punched cards is the drawing size (physical size of drawing that was filmed) easily identifiable on the filmed drawing so an operator can punch it in?
Yes
No
Is the drawing size hand written on the cards?
Yes
No
SOME= %
10 - Does the punched information include the drawing # or whatever will become the file name of the scanned image?
Yes
No
SOME= %
11 - Is the document/drawing # (or whatever will become the file name) 8 or fewer characters?
Yes
No
SOME= %
Is the the document / drawing # clearly located on each card consistently in the same columns and in the same format?
Yes
No
SOME= %
12 - Are dashes in the drawing #/name?
Yes
No

13 - Does the punched hollerith information contain ALL the information required for indexing?
Yes
No SOME= %
If not, is it on the film (drawing)?
Yes No

14 - Is the physical condition of the cards such that they will pass through a scanner without jamming? Are they bent, folded, etc?
Yes
No SOME= %
15 - For cards that are already punched, identify maximum number of characters for each field such as the drawing # (usually the file name), the drawing size, the revision number, the project #, the date, etc, etc. Identify the first and last column into which each of these fields is to be punched.
16 - Approximate quantity of correctly, consistently punched aperture cards:
17 - Approximate quantity of unpunched aperture cards:
18 - Can the unpunched cards be punched by CTS or you?
19 - If necessary, can the punched cards be additionally punched with additional information by CTS or you?
20 - If CTS punches these cards, is the information that will be punched easily found and identifiable on the filmed drawing consistently in the same location, such as the title block?
Yes
No
21 - If CTS punches these cards, what information is to be punched?
Identify maximum number of characters for each field such as the drawing # (usually the file name), the revision number, the project #, the date, etc.
